The Tallong Memorial Hall was built to honour those who served in the Frist World War but was also a matter of pride, a project begun to celebrate the fact that the village's population was approaching 200. .... The building committee worked hard; fundraisers were creative and included an "ugliest Man in Town" contest. Volunteer labour was valued at over 300. Fnally, the committee took out a loan from the Bank of Australasia for the balance. The Hon. G. Fuller, M.L.A., opened the Memorial Hall in May 1920, in front of a large crowd (see the following photo).

  Nowadays the Hall is the focal point for community activities like the Apple Day Festival, the children's Christmas Party, Tallong Focus Group meetings, Tai Chi exercise classes, the Tallong Quilting group, etc.

The Hall is administered by a Trust lead by Carl Wise.
